Il segreto sta nel progettare un sistema che si preoccupi di delegare le operazioni più complesse a processi che girano in background, che non comunichi con sistemi esterni in modo sincrono, non importa quanto velocemente, e che sia pigro: meglio lasciare per dopo tutto quello che non ha necessità di essere eseguito al momento.

Tra un paio di settimane vado a Berlino per la Web 2.0 Expo organizzata da O’Reilly e TechWeb e a dicembre quasi sicuramente sarò a Parigi come ogni anno per LeWeb’08. Sulla carta molti degli interventi sembrano validi, speriamo solo le promesse vengano mantenute.

I progetti opensource soffrono di problemi di usabilità. E non è coinvolgendo l’utente finale, come fa il team di Wordpress, che la situazione migliorerà.

Realizzare un progetto che soddisfi ambo le parti, soprattutto un progetto che richiede alcuni mesi di lavoro, è un’attività che il cliente e l’azienda di consulenza devono affrontare sapendo di mettere in campo tutto l’impegno necessario. Referenti non motivati, stime di costo in continua variabilità, scorciatoie di progettazione, tempi non rispettati sono gli elementi che piano piano, giorno dopo giorno, minano la riuscita di un progetto che è apparentemente solido.
